so sadly, today was our last day in boston...We spent most of it on the bus, but when we did get off, we had a great time exploring places like Salem and Rockport. Salem is of course home to the fabled salem witch trials and because we are reading the Crucible in english, we had to go look at the gravestones of the accused witches...we also went into an art museum that featured, strangely, asian art, the art of maori tattoos, and indian art. nothing really related to Salem. anyway then we drove to rockport where we explored the adorable little fishing town. we saw a memorial for all of the men lost at sea from the years 1863 to the 1930s...there were so many names, it was hard to believe that that many men lost their lives to fishing....as we walked around the small town we conversed with many different people. i met two women who explained to me the meaning of off season and we talked for a good twenty minutes on the importance of tourism. later tonight we got to see the play, Shear Madness. it was a murder mystery and actually involved the audience and had them help figure out who was the murderer...it was one of the funniest things i had seen in a long time...now we are back at the hotel, packing our bags and wishing to stay longer...
